Toilets and concrete seem to be magnets for fragile phones, but the LifeProof phone case, unlike your back pocket, has your back. LifeProof FRĒ is a waterproof (submersible up to 6.6 feet for 1 hour), shock proof (up to 6.6 feet), dirt proof, snow proof case that is virtually indestructible, so you you can #LiveLifeProof.
LifeProof FRĒ accommodates almost every tablet and phone imaginable, including the iPhones 4S, 5, 5C, 6, 6 Plus; iPad Air; iPad Mini; Droid Turbo; Samsung Galaxy S6, S5—it's like the
Honey Badger of gear: It Just Doesn't Give a Frack. (See how I did that there? Referencing the 74
million-watched YouTube viral video of the Fearless Honey Badger and Battlestar Galactica at the same time? Neato.)
It's sleek and doesnt make the phone too bulky at all, especially for the protection you get as a result.
What's in the box?
- FRĒ case
- Headphone adapter
The fitness #gear market is flooded with armbands. True story. But there are two things they're all missing that LifeProof FRĒ isn't: Easy phone access when you need it, and sweatproof bands. You know when you're out for a run or ride and your phone is strapped or clipped onto a mount or tucked away because you're connected via Bluetooth—and then you suddenly could really use your phone? Like, you see an amazing vintage car (cherry red Volkswagen with newly polished chrome) or your dream home, or the mountains are looking especially radiant this morning. LifeProof came up with a QuickMount System that allows you to easily snap it onto a bike mount, armband, belt clip, and other accessories. But when you need it, you just twist and unlock it and then BAM! INSTANT SELFIE! So, yeah... I can't guarantee the selfies will be good, but it's really satisfying to take photos with ease while on the run. Then I clicked the phone right back on, secured an additional lock switch and was gone.
The armband accessory adjusts to fit biceps from 8.5" to 19"—from waifs to beefcakes. You can connect your LifeProof FRĒ, NÜÜD, FRĒ Power and most other cases to it. And although it does sit a bit raised from your arm, due to the QuickMount, I felt no shaking or instability at all while running. In fact the opposite. It was super-secure.
Plus whatever material they use to construct it (info not available on the site) stays DRY and does NOT collect sweat, unlike every other armband I've ever tried. It's the worst to see most
armband covers fogging up due to sweat condensation, and then it starts to get sweat on your phone as well. Say goodbye to that problem, because LifeProof has fixed that. See the thin, flexible
yet sturdy armband? It's secure for sure.
Waterproof your phone—for goodness' sake! The specs say the LifeProof protects your phone in up to 6.6-foot depths of water for up to an hour. That's like a drop into the middle of a typical pool. Can't say I've tried that yet, but I did take it into the shower for a test drive. Although the outside got steamy, just like your glasses would or like the shower walls, the screen just needed a quick wiping off and the interior/exterior of the screen remained perfectly clear, water tight, and usable! How's that for productivity?! I won't show you that shower photo though. Just this one from LifeProof...
Pro surfer Malia Manuel has even taken the Lifeproof out on the waves too, as LifeProof is an official sponsor of the US Open of Surfing. Check out the video below. So now you know it's the real deal and that it can take on whatever adventures you get into. Believe me, the LifeProof FRĒ is totally unassuming. But if you're a true gadget geek like me, you'll love this one, with its cascade of additional mobile-ready accessories, the second you're locked and loaded.
