There are so many unsaid strings attached when you purchase a sneaker—goals, hopes, dreams of your best self. But you have to put in the work. The question is: Can your shoes handle it?

The Reebok CrossFit Nano 5 can.

Rarely have we seen a shoe that begs to be brutalized like the Nano line. From linebackers practicing drills and sprints to Camille Leblanc-Bazinet and Rich Fronning slamming out one intensified rep after another, there is one thing in common before all the planning and consistent work begins: They've strapped on gear that has stood up to the test.

Running sprints? Articulate through your feet rather than floating on fluff pods and you'll be able to dig deeper and go harder. The Nano is engineered with 3mm drop, crazy durable RopePro outsole that grips like a strongman, a light and breathable yet tough Kevlar upper, and a roomy toe box.  So it's no wonder why the Nano 5s are coming out with a boom. This is Nano 5 is BIG

In these, you can pivot on a penny, stop dead in your tracks, take off in a split second, grind out burpee reps, jump, and basically do exactly what your body was meant to do—but better and faster. It all sounds grandiose, but believe me, other training shoes cannot compete. These aren't tagged AMRAP (as many reps as possible) for giggles. And DuPont Kevlar is not fire-tested for the thrill of it—well mostly... :) Here are the highlights:

  • DuPont™ Kevlar® infused mesh upper for airflow and extreme durability
  • CMEVA compression molded foam underfoot for better cushion and shock absorbtion. An anatomical toe to heel construction and footbed for a natural and secure fit
  • Polyurethane NanoShell for an extra defense against midsole abrasion, enhanced stability, and support for the foot during heavy lifts
  • RopePro carbon rubber wrap is forged with an increased grip pattern providing improved grip during rope climbs while protecting the shoe from shredding
  • Raised outsole lug patterns for better surface area contact and improved traction
  • 3MM toe to heal drop for improved stability during any WOD

The Nano 5s are not just the next iteration in Reebok shoe technology, they're actually better. But don't take my word for it. The Nano 5 AMRAP is out Thursday, 6/25, in an array of neutral and bold colors and retails for $129.99. And I'm not one I pine for the latest sneaks, but these are worth it. I'll be doing my box jumps, hill sprints, and UFC workouts in these babies. Plus ponying up to CrossFit class or two next week, ready for the pain in my body, but not on my feet.
